  Our Teachers

Hello, Everyone,

Thanks for visiting the SWMS Orchestra Website. Here is a little bit about me:

I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University (my FAVORITE college!!) and a Master's Degree in Music Education from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition to orchestra, I have taught middle school and high school band, as well as some college teaching.

I play several instruments, but my main instrument is the bassoon. Music has allowed me to do many amazing things! I have played in just about every kind of ensemble: marching band, drum corps, concert band, wind ensemble, orchestra, quintet, trios, duets, and more. I have traveled and performed all over the state and country. Some of my favorite memories include playing in the Georgia Dome and playing on concerts in Spain, South Korea, and Austria! I regularly play with the Carolinas Wind Orchestra, a large community band, as well as the Border Quintet, a woodwind quintet. I also play freelance with orchestras in North Carolina.

When I am not at school, teaching, or playing my bassoon, I love to read, play video games (XBOX, PS, Nintendo, and PC), and travel the world. I also love my big kitty, Butters, and little kitty, Remington.
